Anvil Point features prominent limestone sea cliffs situated directly beneath the lighthouse in Durlston Country Park near Swanage. The rock character consists of hard, well-jointed limestone offering clean vertical walls, sharp crimps, and positive horizontal wiring breaks. Facing south into the Channel, the crag captures full sunshine throughout the day and dries rapidly under sea breezes. Traditional climbing is the focus, providing high-quality routes from Severe to intermediate E-grades, led by popular classics like Subman and Beeline. The approach takes ten minutes along coastal paths from the Durlston car park followed by an abseil descent to low ledges. High tide covers belay platforms, making low-tide timing essential for a safe outing.
