About Babbacombe
Multiple sport sectors near Babbacombe bay. Sheltered, east-facing, catches morning sun. Dries quickly. Excellent mid-grade sport. Popular with Torquay locals year-round. The rock is steep Devonian limestone with sharp crimps, vertical crack lines, and pocketed slab faces high above the sea. Coastal breezes dry open faces quickly, though ocean mist can leave a slick film. Approach is a short walk down from Babbacombe Downs — watch for loose rock on some upper vegetated bands.
