Baldstones is an atmospheric cluster of gritstone outcrops and scattered blocks located high on the Staffordshire moors near Gib Tor. The rock is coarse, sharp gritstone providing incredible friction on subtle features. Facing multiple aspects across the scattered tors, climbers can easily find sunny or sheltered spots, and the windy moorland setting guarantees swift drying times. The crag is best known for high-quality bouldering and short, punchy trad routes ranging from VS to hard E-grades. The classic line of Blue Sky stands out as a high-quality testpiece. Reaching the tors takes roughly fifteen minutes along moorland paths from the nearby country lanes. High wind exposure on the open moor is the main detail to bear in mind.
