About Carn Brea

Carn Brea is a prominent granite hill crowned with massive tor formations and boulders, situated between Redruth and Camborne. The rock character is extremely rough, high-friction granite featuring rounded slopers, sharp crimp edges, and physical compression arêtes. Because the tors and boulders face all cardinal directions, climbers can find sun or shade at any time of day. The venue is predominantly a bouldering destination, offering hundreds of problems from VB up to elite 7th grade roof challenges, alongside short trad lines. Access is effortless, taking five minutes up gentle paths from the hilltop monument parking area. Open hilltop breezes ensure the rock dries almost immediately after rain.
