Speke's Wall (E1 5b), Waterfall Route (VS 4c), Atlantic Chevron (E2 5c)","Culm Coast (Speke's Mill Mouth) sits near Hartland Quay, offering atmospheric sea cliff climbing adjacent to a dramatic coastal waterfall. The rock character consists of intensely folded Culm sandstone and shale chevrons with thin crack systems and delicate slab features. Facing west toward the Atlantic, the cliffs catch late afternoon sun, but spray from both sea and waterfall keeps surrounding rock damp during high winds. Traditional climbing features serious middle and upper-grade routes from VS to hard E-grades, led by Speke's Wall. The approach requires a twenty-minute coastal walk along steep trails from Hartland Quay car park followed by a rocky shore scramble. Unstable rock, waterfall spray, and tidal cut-offs are key considerations.
