About Frea (Passo Gardena)

A compact-dolomite sport crag on the Sella massif just below the Passo Gardena pass, on the Val Gardena side. Vertical rock with pockets and huecos plus some slab sections, arranged on 'floors' so you can climb multiple pitches directly one above the other. Five sectors within a few minutes of each other; two of them are reached via a short via ferrata or by climbing two pitches from below. Alpine character throughout — plenty of shade in the morning, sun from afternoon onward, and mid-summer thunderstorms are a real risk. West aspect makes it a good evening venue.
