About Vajolet Towers (Rosengarten)

Ten limestone spires rising from the meadows of the Rosengarten / Catinaccio group above Val di Fassa. The three southern towers — Delago (west, 2790m), Stabeler (central), Winkler (east) — are thin needle spires that carry the classics; the six northern peaks are larger. Approach from Rifugio Vajolet / Preuss (1.5-2 hours from Ciampedie cable car). Because the spires are so narrow, they get wind and sun from all sides and dry very quickly after showers — a real advantage compared to the big faces nearby. Spigolo Piaz on Torre Delago (Tita Piaz, 1911) is 156m of airy arête at IV+ and remains one of the most beloved Dolomites classics. Afternoon thunderstorm risk applies.
