Glen Etive Slabs present a vast, smooth apron of pink granite rising above the floor of Glen Etive. The rock is remarkably friction-dependent, characterized by delicate slab climbing, shallow overlap placements, and micro-wire protection. Facing southwest, the slabs capture long hours of afternoon sun and dry extremely fast following rainfall, making them a popular fair-weather venue. The route profile centers on mid-grade traditional classics, featuring long multi-pitch slab friction testpieces such as Spartan Slab and Hammer. The approach takes a quick ten-minute walk along established moorland paths from the roadside laybys along the Glen Etive road. High-friction rubber and precise footwork are critical, as protection on lower pitches can be sparse.
