Harrison's Rocks is the flagship sand-rock venue in the Weald, situated in lush woodland near Groombridge in East Sussex. The rock character is soft, highly friable Ardingly sandstone, featuring delicate honeycomb pockets, smooth friction slabs, and narrow vertical cracks. Facing predominantly north and shaded by dense forest canopy, the crag remains cool and takes time to dry following prolonged rain, requiring patience to avoid damaging wet rock. The climbing is strictly restricted to top-roping and soloing across all grades from 3 to 7a, with landmark lines like Slim Finger Crack and Niblick. The approach takes ten minutes along flat paths from the dedicated BMC toilet car park. Strict soft-rock ethics prohibit leading, placement of metal gear, or rope-rub across the crag top.
