About Haukkakallio
Haukkakallio is a popular granite crag on the coastal fringe of southern Finland — specifically in Loviisa municipality in the Uusimaa region, roughly 90 minutes east of Helsinki. Not to be confused with the Nuuksio National Park boulder scene which sits west of Helsinki in a different part of Uusimaa. Rock is Precambrian basement granite, sharing drying character with Olhava's rapakivi granite. 137 routes across seven named sectors — Kultajuova, Kanjoni, Terassi, Muuri, Metsä, Kivikausi, Luolamies — with 74 trad, 61 sport and 2 boulder problems from 4b up to 7c+. The very long cliff and strong mid-grade density make it the natural pairing with Olhava for a Finnish climbing trip. Maintained by Kotkan Kiipeilyseura climbing club. South aspect gives it a long season for Finland.
