The rock character consists of pale, pocketed Portland limestone, featuring sharp horizontal breaks, steep crimpy face climbs, and technical slabs. Facing east toward the Channel, the crag catches early morning sun, drying quickly in wind, though sea mist can occasionally coat lower boulders. The climbing is predominantly sport-oriented, featuring high-quality bolted routes from 5b to 7b, with Cheyne Wall serving as a standout line. The approach takes under five minutes down stone steps and coastal paths directly from the Cheyne Weares car park. Non-tidal access offers great convenience, though rough seas can make lower wave-cut platforms damp.
