About Kullaberg — Västra (West)

The Kullaberg peninsula juts into the Öresund on Sweden's south-west coast, and its west-facing sea cliffs host some of the country's most dramatic trad climbing on 1.7-billion-year-old high-grade metamorphic gneiss (with black-brown amphibolite bands cutting through). Around 500 trad routes and 100 sport lines across the peninsula, plus DWS from summer. Palme, Björkeröd, and the classic western sectors sit high above the sea with the routes finishing at the top of the cliffs. Coastal exposure and west aspect mean onshore Atlantic winds and salt spray are the main condition concerns — handled by the coastal + high-exposure flags. Southernmost major Swedish crag, and the mild Skåne climate extends the season from mid-April through October.
