About Mewslade Bay
A small sandy beach facing SSW on the west of the Gower Peninsula, enclosed by dramatic limestone cliffs with Thurba Head rising over 70m on the eastern side. The area between Fall Bay and Mewslade contains the greatest concentration of good traditional routes on Gower, with a variety of gullies and buttresses at all grades. Some cliffs are non-tidal, others very tidal — check before starting. Seasonal seabird nesting restrictions can apply to some sections during spring/summer — check BMC RAD before visiting.
