About Mount Yonah
Mount Yonah is a large granite dome in Chattahoochee National Forest, White County GA, 1.5 hours north of Atlanta between Cleveland and Helen. Mixed climbing: the SW-facing Main Face is heavily bolted and used for US Army Ranger mountaineering training (numbered and colour-coded routes with lots of bolts — the Army still runs operations here), while the Lowers and other civilian sections hold traditional and mixed climbing. Approach is a long uphill hour (~2.3 mi / 1,500 ft gain) from the Chambers Road trailhead — pack light. Designated camping only; check the parking-lot kiosk. Free USFS access. Granite dries fast.
