About Oxwich Point

Oxwich Point provides scenic limestone sea-cliff climbing on the southern rim of the Gower Peninsula near Oxwich Bay. The rock character consists of layered Carboniferous limestone featuring technical vertical face climbs, sharp crimps, and deep chimney features. Facing south, the crag receives abundant daylight and dries quickly under coastal breezes, though lower ledges hold moisture during high sea states. The climbing is predominantly traditional, covering a range from Severe to E-grade wall climbs, with Oxwich Wall being a popular local highlight. The approach takes twenty minutes along the coastal footpath from the main Oxwich Bay beach car park. Tidal cut-offs restrict access around high tide, so tide tables must be checked carefully.
