Pot Scar is a clean limestone edge situated above Malhamdale near Kirkby Malham. The rock offers excellent, compact gray limestone featuring technical crimps, natural horizontal breaks, and clean vertical seams. Facing south in an elevated setting, the scar catches all available sunlight and dries very quickly after rain showers. The crag is popular for high-quality, friendly trad climbs ranging primarily from Severe to E2. Classic climbs like Pot Scar Groove provide enjoyable, well-protected climbing. Access involves a 15-minute uphill walk along public footpaths from Kirkby Malham. Low seepage and fast drying make it a great shoulder-season destination.
