About San Vito Lo Capo — Scogliera di Salinella

The flagship coastal crag of San Vito Lo Capo and by far the biggest single climbing area in Sicily — a 4km-long limestone cliff running along the west coast right next to the town. White, grey and orange limestone up to 60m high in places, offering ~900 sport routes across the full stylistic range: slabs, vertical walls, caves, tufas, jugs and crimps. West and south-west facing so gets afternoon and evening sun — perfect for winter climbing when the low sun angle heats the wall, hopeless in summer. San Vito hosts one of Europe's biggest climbing festivals here each October.
