About Stone Farm Rocks

Stone Farm Rocks is a compact, highly popular sandstone crag situated on a sunny hillside near East Grinstead. The rock character features sound Ardingly sandstone with crisp horizontal break pockets, friction slabs, and clean vertical crack systems. Facing south across open country, the crag captures abundant sunshine and dries quickly after rain, making it one of the faster-drying outcrops in the Weald. The climbing offers top-roping and bouldering across all grade bands from Severe to hard E-grade equivalents, led by Stone Farm Crack. The approach involves a short five-minute walk from the nearby lane laybys across a grassy field. Climbers must use long sling extensions and rope guards to prevent top-edge erosion.
