About Brattberget

Brattberget is the best sport crag in the Sundsvall area on the Bothnian coast of northern Sweden — a dramatic granite wall right on the Bay of Sundsvall, with routes commonly over 30 metres. Local climbers describe the approach as unassuming ("you would never imagine there would be such an impressive crag here") but the wall itself is one of Sweden's finest coastal sport venues. 38 sport routes plus 42 trad spread across Kortsidan, Lilla väggen, Radioväggen and Sjöväggen sectors, in a really varied style — the routes often "feel like they have a bit of everything." East aspect means direct sun only in early morning then shade for the rest of the day — perfect for summer. Sundsvall's northern position (300 km north of Stockholm) means cooler air and unreliable shoulder seasons; bring the mid-layer even in July.
