About Baggy Point (Long Slab)

Baggy Point (Long Slab) is a hugely popular, accessible sandstone slab venue situated just along from the Promontory near Croyde. The rock character features clean, low-angle sandstone slabs with sharp friction holds, horizontal wire cracks, and positive bucket ledges throughout. Facing south, the slab gets continuous sunshine throughout the day and dries very fast, making it one of North Devon's most reliable lower-grade sea cliff destinations. Route selection spans friendly multi-pitch trad routes from Moderate up to VS, led by the quintessential classic Long Slab Route. The approach involves a twenty-minute walk along the main coastal footpath from Croyde car park followed by a scramble down easy ledges. Tidal movement covers the slab base at high water, restricting access.
