About Ben A'an

Ben A'an is a iconic, pointed peak in the Trossachs, offering scenic multi-pitch mica-schist climbing near its summit pyramid. The rock character consists of rough, highly featured schist with sharp edges, positive quartz holds, and clean wire crack systems. Facing south, the summit crag catches full daylight and dries relatively quickly in hilltop winds, though lower mossy breaks can retain moisture. The climbing focuses on scenic traditional multi-pitch routes from Severe up to E-grade wall climbs, headlined by Slab Route. The approach involves a sustained, forty-five minute steep uphill hike along built tourist trails from the Ben A'an pay-and-display car park off the A821. High tourist foot traffic on the trail and sudden mountain weather changes are standard factors.
