About Hallinden
One of the most concentrated collections of high-quality granite trad in Scandinavia — Hallinden hosts several steep crags across sectors like Lilla Väggen, Vänster, Höger, and Hallinds Klack, with routes from Severe up to E9. Rock is fine-to-medium grained Bohus granite, ~920 million years old, with the distinctive perfectly-smooth-but-friction-rich texture climbers travel here for. Most routes are trad on natural pro — a few anchors are bolted where the top is bad. South-facing with shade in the morning and sun from lunchtime onwards. Sits inland in the Uddevalla area so it's less battered by coastal weather than Fjällbacka further north. Very popular — expect crowds on classics in June and July.
