About Brimham Rocks

Spread-out gritstone tor with bizarrely-weathered pinnacles. Open Nidderdale moorland — fully exposed, dries fast. Excellent mix of bouldering and trad. National Trust property. The rock is superb gritstone with deep honeycomb pockets, friction slopers, bold arêtes, and sheer overhangs — hundreds of individual blocks facing every possible aspect, so sun, shade or shelter can always be found. Thousands of boulder problems and traditional climbs span all grades from Diff to E6, with celebrated lines like Jagged Edge (E1 5b) and Lover's Leap (VS 4b). Access takes five minutes from the main National Trust car park via paved paths. Heavy public footfall means belayers should keep paths clear and avoid damaging the historic rock formations.
