Armorican (VS 4c), Zebra Slab (HS 4b), The Pillar (HVS 5a)","Caerfai Bay is a picturesque coastal inlet near St. David's, famous for its colorful red sandstone and purple mudstone sea cliffs. The rock character features rough, high-friction sandstone slabs, vertical crack systems, and sharp crimpy walls above a sandy beach. Facing south, the crag functions as a warm sun trap, drying very rapidly after rain, though wave spray can wet lower slab sections during big swells. The climbing provides enjoyable, well-protected traditional routes from Severe to intermediate E-grades, led by Zebra Slab and Armorican. The approach involves a five-minute walk down steep wooden steps from the Caerfai Bay car park. High tides flood the entire beach base, making tide planning essential for a safe visit.
