About Craig Ddu

The first Llanberis Pass crag on the sunny southern side as you drive up from Nant Peris — often overlooked because of its more famous neighbours, but home to some brilliant, quiet routes. South-facing rhyolite that catches good sun, though a persistent drainage line through the left-hand section keeps that part of the cliff damp for most of the year unless there's been a real drought. The right-hand side dries fast. Rib and Slab (VD) is the accessible starter; Yellow Wall (HS), Orpheus (E1) and Mabinogion (E2) are the standout harder lines. Rarely crowded even on the best summer days.
