Access
(private-land parking): the Fun Rock parking area sits on Northwest Outward Bound School private land. The school kindly allows public parking, but climbers must not camp or sleep in vehicles anywhere along the paved section of Lost River Road or in the Fun Rock lot. Methow Valley Climbers (WCC chapter) enforces this etiquette.
Fun Rock is the Methow Valley's family sport crag, just off Lost River Road a mile west of the Mazama Store on the sunny east side of the North Cascades. The area holds several small walls of meta-sedimentary rock with mostly bolted routes 5.6 through hard 5.12 — friendly moderates dominate, with harder testpieces including Prime Rib of Goat (5.11c) and Golden Boy (5.11d). The east-of-crest location keeps Fun Rock drier than western Cascade venues; the season runs April through October.
