About Le Brévent

2525m granite face directly under the Brévent cable-car top station — the highest sport-multi-pitch on the site and one of the classic Chamonix rock outings. The Voie Frison-Roche (6 pitches, 200m, 6a, opened 1906 and refurbished, named for the mountain guide and novelist) is the pilgrimage route; Ex Libris and La Piste Oubliée sit on the same wall. Cable car from Chamonix to 2525m, then 15–20 minutes' walk down to the base, and the routes top out right at the station — no rappels, ride the télépherique back to town. At this altitude the fog and condensation rule fires often and is realistic; snow patches from the plateau above can seep into June, and the season is genuinely limited to roughly June to early October. Granite plus altitude means anything more than passing cloud shuts it down — not the venue for a wet-rock day.
