About Moore's Wall (Hanging Rock SP)

Moore's Wall is Hanging Rock State Park's crown climbing crag — a 400+ ft north-facing quartzite cliff on the north side of Moore's Knob, 27 miles north of Winston-Salem NC. Sections of the wall close annually for peregrine falcon nesting — confirm current closures via Carolina Climbers Coalition before travelling. Approach ~30 min from the Climbing Access Rd parking off Hooker Farm Rd. NC State Parks free access; register at the kiosk. Quartzite dries fast, no wet-fragility.
