About Mother Carey's Kitchen

Mother Carey's Kitchen is one of Pembrokeshire's most famous sea-cliff venues, offering atmospheric climbing in a dramatic zawn near St. Govan's. The rock character features towering, non-polished limestone with steep juggy roofs, technical face pockets, and clean jam cracks. Facing south inside a sheltered cove, the crag gets high sun exposure and dries rapidly, though deep interior corners can trap sea dampness. The climbing is strictly traditional and highly sustained, hosting world-class testpieces from E1 to E6, led by benchmark lines such as Rock Idol and The Strand. The approach requires a fifteen-minute walk from the Broad Haven South car park followed by an abseil descent. Inundation at high tide and seasonal bird bans make tide tables and access checks essential.
