Neilston Pad is a distinctive flat-topped volcanic hill in East Renfrewshire, featuring small basalt outcrops near its upper rim. The rock character consists of rough, jointed basalt with positive edges, small wire cracks, and short vertical faces. Facing south, the crag receives maximum available sun and dries quickly in open, elevated breezes. The route distribution offers shorter traditional routes and bouldering options from Diff up to lower E-grades, led by classic lines like Pad Corner. The approach takes twenty minutes up clear hill paths from parking areas in Neilston village. Short route lengths mean many visitors use the crag for quick evening sessions or top-roping.
