About Paviland
Rugged limestone sea cliffs on the south Gower coast famous archaeologically for Paviland Cave (the Red Lady). Most popular routes start straight from the beach; with a tidal swing of up to 13m, much of the crag can be underwater at the wrong time. Non-tidal upper walls are vegetated but the underlying rock is solid, low-angle limestone that sheds seepage quickly. Seasonal seabird nesting restrictions can apply to some sections during spring/summer — check BMC RAD before visiting.
