About Pinnacle Ridge (Ben Nevis)

Pinnacle Ridge (Ben Nevis) forms a massive, complex mountain buttress on the North Face of Ben Nevis, constructed of rough volcanic rock. The rock is firm and highly featured along ridge crests, though inner chimneys and gullies contain loose blocks and persistent wetness. Facing east and northeast at alpine altitude, the ridge gets early sun but remains cold and wind-exposed throughout the day. The crag offers long multi-pitch traditional mountaineering routes and classic scrambles, led by the legendary Pinnacle Ridge itself. The approach involves a sustained, two-hour uphill mountain trek from the Torlundy car park. High mountain hazards, rapid weather changes, and complex alpine descents demand full mountaineering competence.
