About Quiraing Pinnacles

Quiraing Pinnacles form a chaotic landscape of basalt towers and rock landslips on the Trotternish ridge in North Skye. The rock character features weathered basalt and breccia with short vertical walls, loose flakes, and tricky protection options. Facing various aspects throughout the labyrinth of towers, wind keeps outer faces dry, while inner gullies retain moisture. The climbing consists of adventurous traditional lines and pinnacles from VS to E-grades, headlined by The Needle. The approach takes thirty minutes up built paths from the summit car park on the staffin-Uig road. Loose rock hazards, soft holding power for gear, and complex descent paths require caution.
