Sannox Boulders are a collection of high-quality granite blocks lying along the shoreline and lower valley at Sannox on the Isle of Arran. The rock character is extremely rough, coarse granite with sharp crimps, sloper mantels, and compression arêtes. With blocks facing multiple directions along the coastal flat, bouldering can be tailored for sun or shade. Grades cover introductory 5th grade lines up to hard 7th grade roof challenges, with Sannox Arete being a popular highlight. The approach takes five minutes across flat grass and beach pebbles from the Sannox village parking area. Non-tidal positions allow easy access, though high spring tides can reach select beach-level blocks.
