About Snow Creek Wall
Snow Creek Wall is Leavenworth's premier multi-pitch granite, an 800-foot dome above Icicle Canyon on the sunny east side of the Cascades. The high-friction granite is studded with chickenheads and split by immaculate crack systems; the wall's east aspect and 1,050-metre altitude put it firmly in Mount Stuart's rain shadow, so it dries fast even after Cascade weather rolls through. The signature route is Outer Space (5.9), one of the state's greatest moderates — six pitches of exposed traversing on huge holds. Orbit (5.8) and Umbrella Tree (5.10a) round out the classic list. Approach takes an hour uphill from the Snow Lakes trailhead. May–June and September–October are prime — the east face bakes by early afternoon in high summer. Northwest Forest Pass required at the trailhead.
