About Valle dell'Orco — Sergent

The Sergent, sitting slightly upstream from Caporal on the Ceresole Reale side of Valle dell'Orco, is the bigger and slightly less imposing of the two — the same excellent compact orthogneiss but with more length and more crack systems. Bomber south-facing granite-gneiss with a strong crack-climbing tradition; some easier moderate lines here suit climbers building crack skills before tackling Caporal's harder classics. Approach 10-15 minutes from the road.
