About Widgi Boulders
Widgi Boulders is Central Oregon's best small-batch bouldering — a compact grove of basalt boulders hidden in ponderosa pine forest off Cascade Lakes Highway, about ten minutes southwest of downtown Bend. The area holds 34 problems from V-easy to V6 across Widgi Right and Widgi 3/4 sub-zones, with classic problems including The Brain (V1), the Widgi Dyno (V3), and the Widgi Block. High desert climate at 1,200 metres means near-instant drying after rain and a long season from May through October. Camping is allowed in the surrounding forest but not on the boulders or in the parking lot. Look for the Widgi Creek Golf Course sign on the left as you drive out of town, then take the driveway across from it and keep right on dirt roads.
