About OK Corral (Wild Iris)

The OK Corral is Wild Iris's most-visited destination — short, west-facing shady sport routes rising from a dense pine forest at 2697m (8850 ft) on Limestone Mountain in the southern Wind River Range foothills, 24 miles southwest of Lander via WY-28. Short approach (5 minutes from the trailhead), spacious belay area, and moderate-friendly grade concentration (5.9-5.11) make it Wild Iris's family and beginner destination. West-facing catches afternoon shade — ideal on warm days. Sharp Madison Limestone pockets are Wild Iris's signature — uniquely challenging for finger strength. Sudden afternoon thunderstorms are a real hazard at this altitude July through August.
