About Arncliffe Cote
Arncliffe Cote is an impressive limestone scar overlooking the entrance to Littondale near Kilnsey. The rock character comprises sound, highly pocketed limestone with long vertical walls and bold arêtes. Facing south, the scar receives sunshine all day and dries rapidly after rain due to its high, windswept position. The crag features traditional climbing mostly concentrated in the VS to E4 range, offering lines like Cote Wall. Reach the crag via a steep 15-minute uphill hike from roadside parking laybys along the Arncliffe road. Upland wind exposure can make conditions cool, but rock friction remains excellent.
