Scoska Cave Crag is a secluded limestone cliff hidden in woodland near the Scoska Cave nature reserve in Littondale. The rock is steep, featured limestone with deep cave openings, tufa drips, and technical wall features. Facing south under woodland canopy, upper sections catch sun, but cave seepage and tree shade keep lower routes damp for extended periods. The climbing is bold trad and technical sport, mostly graded between HVS and E5. Classic routes like Scoska Wall require dry conditions and sound judgment. Reach the crag via a 20-minute woodland walk from Arncliffe footpaths. Persistent seepage around cave features makes mid-summer the best time for dry rock.
