Base platforms inundated around high tide — climb 2h either side of low water
Logie Head is a prominent coastal headland near Cullen on the Moray coast, offering steep, high-quality quartzite and sandstone sea cliffs. The rock character features sharp edges, vertical wave-cut cracks, and superb natural protection opportunities on clean, ocean-washed rock. Facing predominantly east into the North Sea, the headland gets early morning sun before moving into cool shade by mid-afternoon. Route selection spans mid-grade traditional outings to serious E-grade face climbs, centered on popular lines like The Pinnacle and Spectre. The approach takes fifteen minutes along a scenic coastal path leading from Cullen harbor or Portknockie. Tidal timing is essential as high water covers the low-level belay platforms and cuts off access to the sea stacks.
