About Porth Missick

Porth Missick is a quiet granite sea inlet situated along the North Cornwall coast near St Agnes. The rock consists of sound, rough granite with vertical jam cracks, positive horizontal ledges, and clean slab faces. Facing northwest, the inlet receives late afternoon sunshine and dries fast under prevailing ocean winds, though high tides bring spray. The climbing offers a good mix of traditional routes from Severe up to lower E-grades, featuring classic lines such as Missick Groove. The approach involves a fifteen-minute walk along the coastal path from St Agnes head parking followed by an abseil. Tidal timing is necessary as high water submerges the belay ledges.
