About Quail Springs (Trashcan Rock)

Trashcan Rock — also known as Quail Springs Picnic Area — is the first major climbing formation you meet after entering JTree from the West Entrance, about six miles east of the entrance station. Two distinct climbing zones (East Face, West Face) with a high concentration of easier routes (5.0–5.6), a few moderates (5.7–5.9), and a handful of harder testpieces. Tiptoe (5.7+) and Cranny (5.8) are the West Face introductory classics; Left Sawdust Crack (5.10c) on the East Face is the harder must-do. Rock literally ten feet from the parking area at the Quail Springs Day Use Area.
