About Squire Creek Wall
Squire Creek Wall is a 2,000-foot slab-and-crack granite wall — Darrington's biggest single feature — reached from the Squire Creek trailhead west of town via a mile-and-a-half walk along a decommissioned logging road. This is multi-pitch objective climbing: Slab Daddy (5.10b), Nowaki (5.10), and Damnation Crack (5.9) are the modern classics, all mixing bolt protection with mandatory trad gear. The east-southeast facing wall catches morning sun and remains committing throughout — this is not a cragging destination, and it's not a sport crag either. July through September is the reliable season. Approach involves a creek crossing directly beneath the route; check flow conditions before committing. Bring double ropes for the long rappel descents.
