About Vallorcine — Rocher des Perrons
North-facing granite training cliff on the descent from the Col des Montets towards Vallorcine — the multi-pitch practice venue of choice for Chamonix Valley parties working through their first grandes voies. 20 well-equipped routes 3b–7a on solid granite slabs and dièdres. The north-east aspect means morning shade and afternoon-only sun, so this is the summer alternative when Barberine's south wall is baking. North exposure and treed valley bed keep the base damp longer after rain than the sunny sectors — allow an extra half-day before trusting it. 25–30 minute approach from the Buet parking area at the Col des Montets side.
