About Rumney Jimmy Cliff

Jimmy Cliff is Rumney's fastest-drying wall — Mountain Project describes it as "the least seepy crag at Rumney," a pair of south-east-facing schist walls sitting high on Rattlesnake Mountain (over 300m altitude) where a steady breeze and partial-to-full sun keep the rock climbable when the lower crags are still wet. The moderate ticks Junco (5.8+), Metamorphosis (5.8+), and Lonesome Dove (5.10a) are among Rumney's most-repeated sport routes; Armed and Dangerous and Off My Medication (both 5.10b) are the harder classics on the adjacent Armed & Dangerous wall. Higher approach than most Rumney venues but the pay-off is bulletproof conditions after a wet spell — worth the extra 10 minutes on a marginal day. Shares Rumney's weather anchor with the Main Cliff.
