Torchie (Loch Torridon) is a charming sandstone crag perched above the northern shores of Loch Torridon in Wester Ross. The rock is high-quality red Torridonian sandstone, featuring sharp crimps, horizontal breaks, and clean arêtes. Facing due south, the crag captures full sun all day and dries very quickly following rain fronts. The climbing consists of traditional routes from Severe to E-grades, with Torchie Wall offering clean, enjoyable climbing on solid rock. The approach involves a twenty-minute walk along moorland tracks from the shieldaig road laybys. Midges can gather on windless summer days, making breezy conditions ideal.
