Carn Galver is a dramatic granite tor standing prominently on the moorland ridge between St Ives and St Just. The rock character features rough, weathered granite with rounded slopers, sharp quartz crimps, and deep horizontal wiring cracks. Facing predominantly north, the main face remains shaded for much of the day, taking longer to dry than south-facing coastal crags. The climbing consists of short, atmospheric traditional routes and scrambles from VDiff to E-grades, with Galver Wall being a popular highlight. The approach involves a fifteen-minute uphill walk through heather and bracken from parking laybys on the B3306. Exposed hilltop position means cold winds can be felt even on clear days.
