About Porth Ledden

Porth Ledden is a quiet coastal cove situated at the mouth of the Cot Valley near St Just, featuring granite and hornfels sea cliffs. The rock character features dark, featured stone with vertical jam cracks, sharp crimps, and positive ledges above a boulder beach. Facing northwest, the crag catches afternoon sunshine and dries steadily under ocean breezes, though beach boulders stay damp. Traditional climbing choices range from Severe up to lower E-grades, with Ledden Wall serving as a key line. The approach takes ten minutes along the Cot Valley floor from roadside parking laybys. High tides cover the boulder beach base, restricting climbing sessions.
