Hopeman Quarries are historic coastal sandstone quarry walls located along the Moray Firth coast near Hopeman. The rock character features compact, high-friction red sandstone with crisp square-cut edges, flat ledges, and technical vertical faces. Facing north towards the sea, the quarry walls are largely shaded but dry fast in wind currents off the firth. The climbing offers a good balance of sport climbs and trad lines from French 5th to 7th grades and trad VS upward, led by Hopeman Wall. The approach takes a five-minute walk along the coastal path from Hopeman village parking. The venue is non-tidal, offering dry, stable base platforms suitable for easy gear sorting.
